You’ve Got Me

by Nick Andrea

You’ve got me,
I’ve held nothing back, you see.
My wholeness you hold,
in the palm of your hand, like gold,
My certainty
in the way my eyes widen when you look at me.

I never thought
I’d write a love poem in my life –
I’m just not that kind ‘a guy,

But you’ve brought this mind,
darlin’, to its knees
Got me begging my heart always not to
show me what’s true, please.

And like the bread of Jesus
this heart is broken, it’s true,
a man humbled, surrendered, and
present, for you.

I have nothing left to resist
but for you to take this hand in earnest, I insist,
offered in the Spirit of Indestructibility
I say to Thee, baby:
You’ve got me,
you’ve got me,
you’ve got me.
