No Place to Rest (Rhyming Version)

by Nick Andrea

If you think you know
then get ready to be crucified, fellow,
for,
such is the fate of the ego that thinks so.

Truth
is a ruthless teacher
demanding the constant sacrifice of our
attachment to knowing her;
like it has been said,
“I am mystery,
I have always been a mystery,
I will always be a mystery.”

Senselessness to the intellect
we are instructed not to lean
on our own understanding;
for it has also been said, that
“The wind blows wherever it pleases.
You hear its sound, but you cannot tell
where it is coming from or where it is going,”

said Jesus, so
Child,
lay down the one who’s, “got it,”
and like the wind,
find no place to stop
and think you know it.

Instead, go,
ride the wave of the
never-ending Flow
like the one who said, that
“Foxes have dens and birds have nests,
but the Son of Truth has no place to rest his head.”

Ah………..

And sink back into That
cloud of unknowing
offering your whole Self to its
prompting.

Today is a good day to die, child
today is a good day to die to the
One guiding you from within,
where the heart flies.

And, do not let yourself be troubled, my love,
do not let yourself be troubled at the
rendering of the intellect,
humbled;

You,
are guided,
You,
have always been guided,
You,
will always be guided.
Amen.
