What Am I (riddle)?

by Nick Andrea

What am I?
When I swim, I flap my flat tail
But don’t be fooled, for, I don’t swim in a school
I’m not even in the water all

Day and night, I could probably fight
With these poison spikes on my legs hind…
What am I

Think God broke the mold with me…
I do not growl, and I’ve got the mouth of a fowl
And brown fur to boot, isn’t that a hoot?
What am I

Don’t live in These United States
But in a land down under
Long ago, split asunder
Where aborigine people take from the trees
One of these (play dijeridoo here, please).
So, what am I’m

shocked you haven’t yet guessed my name
Despite, as an egg laying mammal, my great fame;
Honestly, I find that pretty lame.
So, come now, don’t lie
I can see you’re high with those bloodshot eyes
Oh my, oh my

Well now, it’s time to reveal it, nigh, like this:
were there two or more of me
You would grab your sweetie pie and say, “Look, honey, some duck billed platopi!”
