Holy Knife

by Nick Andrea

This is life and death:
the dance on the edge of a
razor blade,
and
if you don’t risk it
that razor blade will cut your
heart
so
wide open
you’ll lose it;
it has been said, that,

“Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for the sake of love will save it,”

It has also been said, that
“The Wound is where the Light enters you.”
That Wound, my love
That Wound
reveals
the grand truth of
life
and
death:
That love
survives them both.

It has been sung, that
“These are the wounds that heal you
It’s the pain
that reveals you.”

So, Baba,
you’d better let that
Holy Knife
cut you
so deep,
so deep,
there’s nothing left,
but
the One
that never left
to begin with;
the One
that’ll be with you
to the very end;
the One
unwoundable
truth
inside you.

Seek ye
that One,
Stand on
That One
my love,
and all your troubles will be
over,
forever.
